What you’ll do

Day 1 Bucharest – Tulcea – Sulina

The tour starts ~7:30 am, when I pick you up from your accommodation in Bucharest and head towards Danube Delta.

After ~3h driving we’ll arrive in Tulcea Port, where we’ll park the car and take the boat to the eastern city of Romania, Sulina.

From Tulcea Port, we’ll take the boat and for ~1.5h we’ll navigate on Sulina branch, heading to Sulina city, our destination. This boat trip will be a good introduction to the area.

In the afternoon, when arriving in Sulina, our guesthouse we’ll meet us with traditional fish-based lunch.

The guesthouse you will be staying at on this tour is special: comfortable and modern, with a generous courtyard and welcoming hosts, you will be treated with delicious meals cooked with fresh fish and local, home-grown products!

After lunch, you can go to the famous beach of Sulina, swim in the Black Sea or just take a relaxing walk on the banks of Danube River.

Day 2 Relax in Danube Delta – Sunset Boat Trip

In the morning of this day, you’ll have free time, relax on the beach of Sulina, or if you want I can organise a fishing session just for you.

At lunch time, our guesthouse will prepare another traditional fish-based lunch.

The food culture in the Delta is unique for cooking fish in slow-cooked stews and various stuffings – delicious like nothing you’ve tasted before!

In the afternoon, we’ll start the 3 hours adventure by boat. We’ll navigate on Sulina Branch, passing near Sulina City, admire the old lighthouse and the Sulina Monastery.

At the end of Sulina Branch, we’ll reach the Black Sea, where we’ll see one old wreck ship abandoned in the sea and watch the many birds of the Danube Delta. We’ll continue to navigate on the Danube Delta Lakes and catch the sunset from the boat.

Arriving back to our guesthouse, you’ll have an relaxed evening and will be the perfect moment to enjoy a glass of wine on Danube banks.

Day 3 Sulina – Letea Forest – Tulcea – Bucharest

Around ~9:00 am the boat will wait for us to go on another adventure for half day to Letea Village.

For ~1.5h we’ll navigate on the Danube Delta smaller branches and we’ll admire the spectacular nature until we’ll reach Letea Village.

Here you’ll find a dozen houses secluded and peaceful with friendly locals. Seeing how simple their life is will be an experience in itself! There we go on a trip to visit the famous Letea Forest!

At lunchtime we’ll be back to our guesthouse, enjoying the last meal cooked in traditional style.

After lunch, we’ll head back by boat to Tulcea Port. Arriving in Tulcea, we’ll be back at the car and the last stint of the journey is a direct drive back to Bucharest, of about 3h, where I’ll drop you off directly at your accommodation.
